About us

What is PRACnet

Practice Research Network (PRACnet) is a multi-organizational research initiative with the primary objective of conducting, promoting and facilitating meaningful patient centered research with a goal to improve the practice of healthcare.

Our Data

Currently utilizing the membership base of Humana health plans, PRACnet maintains a research infrastructure which includes three current Common Data Models (Sentinel, PCORnet and OMOP) covering approximately 27 million lives. The database contains one of the largest Medicare Advantage populations in the United States and allows for robust samples of older Americans with multiple chronic conditions, particularly in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and Midwest regions.

Our People

The research team consisting of clinicians, pharmacists, public health experts and biostatisticians has over a decade of experience in several distributed research networks with establishing governance, principles & procedures, infrastructure for common data models, HIPAA compliant privacy preserving linkages and secure study query deployment portals. In addition PRACnet also engages in research study design, pragmatic trials, disease specific trial recruitment, patient engagement and outreach. The PRACnet team initially engaged in the process of supporting the three PCORnet demonstration studies. Subsequently PRACnet has built long term and sustainable strategic relationships with PCORnet organizations.
